Yes, LPL will be operational in person during the Fall 2020 semester with limited capacity as per the guidance provided by USC and the Viterbi School of Engineering. The lab will operate in a hybrid mode, so as to continue operations both in-person and online. Based on your status you can either contribute online or in-person. However, there are key steps to be taken to be eligible to work in-person at the lab.
Yes, LPL will accept new members if they wish to start online. For this semester, we are planning to have several crash courses and lecture series online to train its members. Also, most of the projects include remote working options, so new members will have several opportunities to contribute to LPL, even online.
The application process will start on the 17th of August, 2020. You will be asked to submit your resume and answer several short answer questions through a google form. These questions will not be technical ones. LPL does not look for prior relevant experience when evaluating the applicants.
